NHS England and NHS Improvement is inviting hospital chefs of all ages to register for fully-funded places on its NHS Great Food Programme.

Incorporating 12 months of work-based learning and interactive workshops, this programme will cover a variety of core topics, including menu specification, portion control, budget constraints, improving efficiency and reducing food waste. Further sessions will focus on nutrition and dietetics, food safety, kitchen operations and culinary innovation.

Catering Leads and Apprenticeship Leads at all NHS Trusts in England should have received an email announcing this programme is ‘coming soon’ and will receive further reminder messages. To register interest in a place, please email: [email protected]. Applications will close on Tuesday, September 7.

The NHS Great Food Programme is running partnership with HIT (Hospitality Industry Training). An unlimited number of places are available for eligible candidates.
