Speaking at the HEFMA National Leadership Forum on Thursday morning (May 15), National Chair David Moss made three core announcements for the future direction of the association.
Strategy
David unveiled the new HEFMA Strategy 2025-2030 and explained how the views of members, expressed through last year’s national membership survey, have fed into this document. Underpinned by the four core workstreams of Compliance, Digital, Sustainability and People, the strategy sets out how HEFMA will continue to support members as it grows in size and worth. Another membership survey next year will benchmark the progress of the workstreams and other issues highlighted, such as improving how HEFMA communicates with members as well as the wider NHS, boosting Branch engagement and reporting more widely on the work done by National Council.
Collaboration
Starting later this year, HEFMA will be delivering some regional events with NHS England. These will be held across six regions, with both David and the appropriate Branch Chair present at each. This will strengthen and consolidate relationships between HEFMA and the national team, as well as continue to grow and develop the HEFMA brand.
Membership Fees
HEFMA has not increased its membership fees for many years. After careful consideration of several options and extensive consultation through the Branches, a new pricing structure for membership has been agreed. Whereas previously the cost to a Trust of annual membership and sending one person to the National Leadership Forum would be in the region of £1,000, from 2025 the membership fee will increase to £500 but will include one residential delegate place at the Forum. Thereafter, an annual increase in line with RPI will be applied. With this new pricing structure, which introduces a subsidy to help more members from more Trusts to attend the Forum, HEFMA is pleased to support Trusts through the present difficult financial times they are facing.
