NHS Supply Chain has confirmed it will be "managing" the demand of infection control products/personal protection equipment, as of March 10, in order to maintain continuity of supply across the healthcare network.
The organisation is advising that some products may be temporarily unavailable to order but that when this does occur, alternatives will be offered.
Customers are advised to log-in to the online catalogue to see affected product codes and alternatives.
NHS Supply Chain is also advising that Trusts are expected to undertake their own risk assessment concerning the use of alternative products within their own clinical areas.
