In May, at the National Leadership Forum, HEFMA will reward members for their efforts, hard work and achievements over the previous 12 months at the annual Awards Ceremony. For 2026, a brand new category has been added to recognise projects, individuals and teams driving Digital Innovation.
As always, these awards are free to enter for HEFMA members, and we’ve made the online nomination process as simple as possible this year. Being nominated, shortlisted, or winning an award is an incredible achievement. It is also an opportunity to promote the good work that Estates & Facilities do every day of the year, keeping hospitals clean, safe and functioning. Through the pages of Pulse, HEFMA will celebrate as many entries as possible – but Trusts can also use these examples of great work across their own social media and other news outlets to highlight the critical role that E&F services play within the NHS, thus helping to attract new talent into E&F positions.
Eight Awards
Nominations are invited for seven categories of awards, with the eighth award recipient, for Outstanding Contribution, based on recommendations put forward by Branches.
The seven categories are:
• Cost Saving Initiative (formerly the Efficiency & Improvement award)
• NEW Digital Innovation
• Leader of the Year
• Personal Development
• Project of the Year
• Sustainability
• Team of the Year
The winners will be announced at the Gala Awards Dinner on the evening of May 28, 2026, during the National Leadership Forum at the Royal Armouries in Leeds.
The deadline to nominate your teams and individuals is January 23, 2026.
Full details of the criteria for each award, as well as the nomination process are all online.
