Hospital caterers shortlisted for Soil Association awards

Food for Life has announced the finalists for the 2019 Food for Life Served Here and Green Kitchen Standard Awards.

 

Food for Life and the Green Kitchen Standard are both Soil Association initiatives. These awards celebrate the exceptional people and food providers who are making a difference and inspiring others through these sustainable catering frameworks. 

 

The awards will be made across 11 categories, including healthcare. Gary Wilkins at North Bristol NHS Trust, Southmead Hospital is shortlisted in the Food for Life Served Here Healthcare Champion Award and the Trust is also shortlisted in the Food for Life Served Here Excellence at Silver and Gold Award. Sheffield Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is shortlisted in the Green Kitchen Standard Champion award. 

 

The winners will be announced on November 15 at London's Living Room at City Hall and presented by TV chef and adviser to the current hospital food review, Prue Leith. The event will be a celebration of the people who are serving thousands of healthy, nutritious meals across the country every day.
