Inspection visit took place on April 7 - 15.

This was an unannounced focused inspection of maternity services carried out as a result of emerging concerns in relation to staffing, incidents, leadership and culture. Six concerns from whistle-blowers were raised between August 2020 and February 2021 in relation to midwifery staffing levels impacting on women’s safety, affecting care pathways and having a negative effect on staff wellbeing. The rating of this service went down to Requires Improvement.
