Apprentice start to address NHS Employers’ Conference

The woman known as the First Lady of Football, Karen Brady, is to address the NHS Employers’ Conference which is to be held in Liverpool next months.

Brady, who stars alongside Sir Alan Sugar in the Junior Apprentice programme, will address delegates on business strategies that helped her stay at the top of her game for 15 years, and which she believes, can be converted to addressing some of the major issues facing the NHS in the current economic climate.


Karen had a high profile career as Managing Director of Birmingham City Football Club is the new Vice Chairman of West Ham United.


She regularly addresses audiences across the UK about the management skills needed to solve operational challenges in some of the UK’s key sectors.


Karen is also a columnist for the Sun newspaper and a judge for the Cosmopolitan Women of Achievement Aawards.


Other speakers include the Secretary of State for Health Andrew Lansley, the Director General of the NHS, Claire Chapman and the CEO of the NHS, Sir David Nicholson. The Paralympian and motivational coach Marc Woods will also be addressing plenary sessions.


The Conference will run from November 16 to 18 and will be chaired by the BBC broadcaster, Edward Stourton,  most recently known for co-presenting the Radio 4 Today programme.
